The Moldovan President Igor Dodon will visit Uzbekistan in 2020, this was agreed during his meeting before the start of the CIS summit in Ashgabat with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Noi.md said.
The two leaders reportedly pointed to the need to step up bilateral tiesat all levels, while the exchange of visits of the heads of state took place more than 20 years ago, and the last meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation was held in 2002.
Due to this, the parties came to the conclusion that the visit of the President of Moldova to Uzbekistan in 2020 is advisable. In addition, the parties emphasized the importance of enhancing contacts at the level of the parliaments of the two countries.
The parties also reiterated their reciprocal interest in advancing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, including through the chambers of commerce and industry and the organization of business forums. At the same time, the presidents pointed to the untapped trade and economic potential of the two countries.
