On October 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking states, Baghdad Amreeev, who arrived in Tashkent to attend in the first Investment Forum and the meeting of the Business Council of Turkic-speaking countries the presidential press service said.

On September 14, Uzbekistan ratified the Nakhichevan agreement on the establishment of the Turkic Council of October 3, 2009 and will participate in the seventh summit of the organization in Baku on October 15 as a full member.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbekistan and the countries of the Turkic Council have historically been connected not only share cultural, linguistic, spiritual values, but also have traditionally friendly and mutually beneficial relations.

He praised the potential of the Turkic Council as an effective regional structure that promotes the practical cooperation, primarily in the areas of trade, investment, innovation, transport, tourism, as well as in the field of cultural and humanitarian exchange.

The head of the Turkic Council congratulated the Uzbekistan leader on the upcoming full accession to the Council and stressed that Uzbekistan’s accession will contribute to deepening productive multilateral cooperation within the organization.

On the same day, Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the president of the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Mustafa Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.
