President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday hosted the Chairwoman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Valentina Matvienko, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly touched upon the bilateral relations, the active participation of the parliaments of the two countries in the implementation of top-level agreements and the promotion of promising projects in trade, economic, investment, innovation, transport and logistics, agro-industrial and scientific-technical areas, as well as the expansion of educational and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.
Also, the sides noted the importance of deepening cooperation within the framework of international inter-parliamentary organizations and exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues.
Valentina Matvienko wished the successful holding of the upcoming elections to the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan and local representative authorities this year.
