The Chair of the Federation Council of the Russia Valentina Matvienko arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit on Tuesday. At Tashkent International Airport, she was welcomed by Senate Chair Tanzila Norboeva and First Deputy Foreign Minister Ilkhom Nematov. Matvienko’s visit will last until October 3.
Valentina Matvienko is scheduled to hold meetings with the Senate Chairman Tanzila Norbaeva and the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber Nurdinjon Ismoilov, as well as to attend the meeting of the inter-parliamentary commission on cooperation of the Uzbek Senate and the Russian Federation Council.
The visit also features the meeting of the Uzbek-Russian business councils, as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Institute of Legislation and Parliamentary Studies of Uzbekistan and the Analytical Legal Department of the Office of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
