On September 25, 2019, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the US Special Representative for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad in New York, the Ministry said.
The parties reportedly exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and the ways of advancing the peace process and also discussed the implementation progress of the socio-economic and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan initiated by Uzbekistan.
The parties also reiterated their interest in the swift achievement of national reconciliation and a political settlement of the conflict in Afghanistan.
