The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliev, the ministry said.
Abdulaziz Kamilov disclosed information about Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Azerbaijan in near future and requested to step up the efforts to hold the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Tashkent.
He also noted that the sides must tap the transit potential of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which will stimulate economic cooperation between the two countries.
Uzbekistan Deputy PM Elyor Ganiev will travel to Georgia in the coming days to step up preparations for the visit.
