The United States of America is one of the TOP-3 destinations where Uzbekistan nationals prefer to emigrate, the State Statistics Committee said in a report for January-June 2019.
In total, 4847 people left abroad in H1 2019 for permanent residence, with the top 3 destinations being Kazakhstan (56.3%), Russia (36.9%) and USA (1.2%).
During the same period, 1361 people arrived in Uzbekistan, most of all from Kazakhstan (29.7%), followed by Tajikistan (24.2%), Russia (22.3%) and Kyrgyzstan (14.3%). Other countries account for the remaining 9.5%.
Internal migration was recorded at 77.5 thousand people, with the highest migration influx falling on the capital Tashkent.
