Uzbekistan's Cabinet of Ministers with its Jan 3 decree has created an Information and Analytical Department for comprehensive socio-economic development of territories, Norma.uz said.

The Department will operate under the authority of the Prime Minister and is subordinate to the first Deputy Prime Minister. The Department’s specialists working in Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city, are the authorized representatives of the Government in the respective territory, the document says.

The department is responsible for the issues of execution of legislative acts, interaction with the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, administrations of Tashkent city, regions and districts, for information-analytical work, elaboration of socio-economic development programs and monitoring and control over their implementation.

The Department's priority tasks lie in the analysis of the territorial socio-economic development, improving the quality and standard of living, interaction and dialogue with the people.
