The first meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan was held in Urgench on May 30,as per the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin 2019.
Following the meeting, the parties signed the following bilateral accords:
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on the mutual recognition of education and qualifications, academic degrees;
- Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on establishment of the exhibition center "Exhibition and Culture Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan" in Pavilion No. 66 on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow;
- Memorandum on the harmonization of the new format and structure of the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation;
- Memorandum of Intent between the Ministry of Economy and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation on the exchange of experience in the field of increasing labor productivity;
- Protocol Modifying the Protocol between the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Customs Service (Russian Federation) on the exchange of data characterizing the customs value of goods originating from the Republic of Uzbekistan and imported into the Russian Federation, dated April 7, 2017;
- A set of measures (Road Map) for the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the Textile, Sewing and Knitting Industries of October 19, 2018;
- Road Map on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation in the field of agriculture in the medium term;
- A plan of practical measures (Road Map) on cooperation between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in the field of health for 2019–2020;
- Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "All-Russian Academy of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation";
- Memorandum of cooperation in the field of creating digital transport systems between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and RT-Invest Transport Systems LLC (Russian Federation;
- Framework agreement on implementation of a project on modernization and development of airports of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the cities of Samarkand, Namangan, Urgench between the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Novaport Holding LLC (Russian Federation);
- An action plan (Road Map) for implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Uzbek-Russian Business Council and the Russian-Uzbek Business Council for 2019-2020;
- Agreement on cooperation between the Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange Joint-Stock Company and the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange Joint-Stock Company;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Interfax International Information Group;
- Memorandum of Cooperation between the Joint-Stock Company "Uzbek Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange" (Republic of Uzbekistan) and the Russian-Uzbek Business Council (Russian Federation);
- Common Terms Agreement for financing hydropower projects in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan between the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Development Corporation VEB.RF;
- Agreement on the opening of a credit line between the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the State Development Corporation VEB.RF.
The heads of government of the Russian Federation expressed confidence that the meeting and the signed documents will serve for further advancing of the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and alliance ties in the trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural-humanitarian fields.
The next meeting of the Joint Commission at the level of the heads of government of Russia and Uzbekistan will be held in 2020 in the Russian Federation. Specific dates will be agreed additionally through diplomatic channels, according to the official website of the Russian government.
