Today, the President of Uzbekistan and the President of the Federal Republic of Germany held talks tête-à-tête and between the delegations, the presidential press service said.
The parties reportedly discussed the current state of bilateral trade and economic cooperation and identified priority areas for its expansion. The counterparts noted that in 2018 the volume of two-way trade 770 million dollars had increased by 25% and identified measures for the preparation and acceleration of joint investment projects.
“The issues of countering terrorism and extremism, strengthening security cooperation were considered. The presidents welcomed the launch of the mechanism of the Uzbek-German consultations on Afghanistan to promote socio-economic, investment and infrastructure projects in Afghanistan,” the press service said.
The negotiations reaffirmed the mutual commitment to the development of full-scale cooperation, the proximity and coincidence of positions on all the issues.
