A number of deals were inked at the meeting of the Uzbek-Russian intergovernmental commission on military-technical cooperation, which was held on May 23 in Samarkand.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the bilateral cooperation in the framework of the Treaty between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation on the development of military-technical cooperation of November 29, 2016 and confirmed their mutual interest in the further advancing of military-technical cooperation and outlined specific steps to implement the reached agreements. The Minutes of Meeting and a number of deals were signed following the meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled in Russia in 2020.

The meeting in Samarkand was chaired by Atabek Ibadullayev, Chairman of the State Committee of Uzbekistan for the Defense Industry and Dmitry Shugayev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation.
