Telephone conversation took place today between President Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Kasym-Jomart Tokayev on his birthday, wishing him good health and great success in his activities.
The parties noted with satisfaction that regular and productive contacts at the highest level contribute to the development and consistent strengthening of the Uzbek-Kazakh friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership ties.
It was especially emphasized that the first state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in April opened broader opportunities for practical cooperation in the trade, economic, investment and transport and communication fields, as well as deepening the cultural and humanitarian dialogue.
The leaders also exchanged views on topical international and regional issues.
At the end of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev wished Kassym-Jomart Tokayev successful holding of the upcoming presidential elections in Kazakhstan on 9 June this year.
