President Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke over the phone with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday. “The two leaders offered heartfelt congratulations to each other on the holy month of Ramadan and exchanged the best wishes,” the Uzbek leader’s press service said in a statement.
They noted the consistent strengthening of friendship and strategic partnership ties, the development of mutually beneficial trade-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.
“The importance of substantive preparation for the first meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council was particularly emphasized. The schedule of upcoming meetings at the highest level was also considered,” the statement said.
