The American John Deere and the state-owned company Uztekstilsanoat (Uz Textile Industry) signed a contract for supply of agricultural machineries to Uzbekistan, Uztextilsanoat said.

This became known following the talks with executives of the American company in Tashkent, while the contract price and what machineries would be supplied were not announced.

During the talks, the American company executives reportedly noted that the cluster form of cotton harvest and textile production recently implemented in Uzbekistan would help increase the production of raw cotton.

Founded in 1837 and headquartered in Moline, Illinois, John Deere is the brand name of Deere & Company, an American corporation that manufactures agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, diesel engines, drivetrains used in heavy equipment, and lawn care equipment.
