Over 200 thousand Uzbeks will be hired in developed countries in 2025, announced the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov at a meeting of the Legislative Chamber on Wednesday.

Before being re-approved for this position, the head of government presented to the lower house of parliament the Cabinet of Ministers' short and long term action program for the.

In particular, it is planned to take 400 measures in 10 different areas by 2030; the program was developed based on the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy. Among the planned measures is the steps on the systematic organization of labor migration.

The PM Aripov said that the president had set the government the goal to provide social support to labor migrants and ensuring their employment in countries.

“Over 200 thousand Uzbeks will be hired in 2025 alone in 21 developed countries, such as Germany, the UK, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Israel, Canada, Poland, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and others,” the head of government said (according to the story of the Uzbekistan 24 TV channel).

In January, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to organize the training of about 100 thousand Uzbeks for employment in foreign countries through organized recruitment.

Later, the Agency for External Labor Migration announced recruitment for 50 thousand vacancies for jobs in Germany, as well as in the Republic of Korea, Poland, Great Britain and other countries.

In October, during a visit to the Tashkent province, the president spoke about Uzbeks working abroad. "If they receive $1,500-2,000, that's great, we will support them. If they receive less than this amount, it is better to create conditions for them here," he said.

In September, Uzbekistan and Germany signed an agreement facilitating entry into Germany for highly skilled labour, including students and persons undergoing vocational training, journalists and scientists, as well as the expulsion of illegal migrants.
