The capsule-laying ceremony for the construction project of Hyundai Motor Uz Namangan plant was held Friday in Namangan’s Turakurgan district, Namangan Haqiqati (Truth) newspaper said.
The governor of Namangan province Hayrullo Bozorov, the mayor of Turakurgan district Gulomjon Murodhojaev, the president of Evergreen Motors Group Kim Chang-keon, managing director of Hyundai Motor Company Choi Don-ho and others were present in the ceremony.
After brief opening remarks, Hayrullo Bozorov and Kim Chang-keon pressed the symbolic project launch buttons and the capsule was placed in a concrete pit.
The first stone laying ceremony of Hyundai commercial vehicle production plant took place in autumn 2018.
Hyundai-Namangan KD plant will will repoertedly be commissioned in September 2019. At the initial stage, it is planned to produce about 400 trucks, minibuses and buses a month, and up to 4,000 in the future.
