Modestas Kaselyauskas from Lithuania has been appointed permanent adviser at the Tax Committee (TC) of Uzbekistan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the committee said in a statement.
Appointed as adviser as part of a tax administration project implemented by the IMF's fiscal affairs department will assist the TC and the Ministry of Finance to draft and implement the Medium-term Tax Administration Reform Strategy for 2019-2023.
Modestas Kaseleuskas will be entasked to consult on transforming the tax system into a “high-tech, automated, modern, as well as a non-corrupt system,” the statement added.
Modestas Kaselyauskas, 45, in 2005–2014 headed the State Tax Authority under the Ministry of Finance of Lithuania and held various positions in the tax authorities in Latvia.
