Uzbekistan Airways received the second of the two ordered Airbus A320 Neo aircrafts, which landed at the Tashkent airport on the evening of April 9, the carrier said in a statement. The first aircraft arrived on March 11 and is now operating on an international flight.
The A320 Neos accommodate 150 passengers in two classes (business class - 12, economy class - 138). A320 Neo family is a development of the A320 family of narrow-body airliners.
The Neo-series have been designed to provide significantly lower fuel consumption and lower operating costs through more modern engines, aerodynamic refinements, large curved winglets, known as sharklets and weight savings.
Uzbekistan Airways is soon expecting the fourth Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, while the third A320neo will come in the autumn of 2020.
