Training test without advance warning of the combat readiness of the troops of the Southwestern Special Military District began on Tuesday. By order of the First Deputy Defense Minister/Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the military units of the district were brought to the highest degree of combat readiness, the defense ministry's said in a statement.
The drill will last through March 29 at the Muborak and Nuriston test sites in the Kashkadarya province. On the first day were tested the advancement and troops delivery exercises, including on unfamiliar terrain.
Military aviation of the Air Defense Forces and the Air Force deployed units by air. Some units advanced on standard military equipment for long distances.
During the comprehensive test, the cohesion with the provincial divisions of the Ministries of the Interior and Emergency Situations, the National Guard, the commands of the Border Troops of the State Security Service and the defense forces of the Ministry of Defense facilities was established, the statement noted.
