The General Secretary of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Kunio Mikuriya will visit Uzbekistan on March 5-7, the Foreign Ministry said.
Uzbek Ambassador to Belgium, Dilyor Khakimov today met with Alan Harrison, the executive director of the office of the WCO Secretary General, to discuss the main items of his visit at a meeting on February 25.
The parties also agreed that the WCO would assist in the systemic transformation of the Uzbek customs authority in the field of security of deliveries, protection of intellectual property and law enforcement.
WCO plans to hold seminars for Uzbekistan customs officials on: “Airport Passenger and Baggage Control”, “Customs Control Efficiency Assessing Techniques” and others.
