Uzbekistan delegation led by the Defense Minister Abdusalam Azizov will visit the United States on January 26-30 at the invitation of the US authorities, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The Uzbek officials will watch the Southern Strike exercise at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center, Mississippi.
Southern Strike is an annual Joint Force exercise hosted by the Mississippi Air National Guard. It is a large-scale, joint multinational combat exercise that provides tactical level training for the full spectrum of conflict. It emphasizes air dominance, maritime operations, maritime air support, precision engagement, close air support, command and control, personnel recovery, aero medical evacuation, and combat medical support.
The military delegation will also visit the headquarters of the Central Command of the US Armed Forces in Tampa (Florida) and will hold talks on the implementation of events included in the Plan of Military Contacts between the Defense Ministry of Uzbekistan and the Central Command.
