President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Uzbekistan's Accession to the Convention for the Protection of Producers of Phonograms Against the Illegal Reproduction of their Phonograms Bill into the Law.
The Convention obliges the parties to protect the interests of phonogram producers - citizens of any of the signatories.
The legal protection includes a ban on manufacturing duplicates of phonogram production without the consent of the owner and importing such duplicates for distribution, as well as online distribution.
The law was passed by the Legislative Chamber on November 30 and approved by the Senate on December 13.
