On December 26, 2018, Ismatulla Ergashev, the Special Representative of the Uzbek President for Afghanistan met with the Iranian Ambassador to Uzbekistan Bahman Agharazi Dormani.
The parties exchanged views on topical issues of Uzbek-Iranian agenda and noted with satisfaction the upward trend in bilateral ties in 2018, while considering the joint action plan for 2019.
The meeting focused on the issue of cooperation in the peace process in Afghanistan and discussed the prospects of cooperation in the implementation of infrastructure projects, including the construction of a regional railroad.
