On December 10, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted a US delegation led by U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Lisa Curtis, Deputy Assistant to the US President, Senior Director for South and Central Asia at the National Security Council was reportedly also present in the meeting.
The parties exchanged views on a wide range of issues of the Uzbek-American ties. With respect to the prospects for a peaceful settlement in Afghanistan, the parties once again confirmed that there is no military solution to the problem.
The parties also reviewed the practical aspects of implementation of large infrastructure projects and other socio-economic projects in Afghanistan.
