Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov met with Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Affairs Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium Didier Reinders in Brussels, the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The parties reportedly reviewed the bilateral ties, focusing on promising areas for further development of cooperation, including within the Uzbekistan-EU format.

The Belgian Foreign Minister commended Uzbekistan’s support for Belgium’s candidacy for non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for 2019-2020.

Both parties said they attached great importance to the deepening of trade, economic and investment ties. Uzbekistan welcomes the intensification of the Belgian businesses in the implementation of projects in textile, electrical industry, construction industry sectors.

The parties also discussed the ways to enhance cooperation in environmental, cultural, humanitarian and tourist areas.
