Regular inter-MFA consultations on consular issues took place in Astana in line with the Program of Cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for 2018.
Delegations of the Consular and Legal Department of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan and the Department of Consular Services of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan discussed issues of the implementation of the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963, multilateral and bilateral documents on legal assistance and legal relations in civil, family and criminal matters, as well as current cooperation in providing consular legal assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan residing in the territories of the parties.
The final protocol was signed following the consultations.
The next round of consultations will be held in Uzbekistan.
