President Shavkat Mirziyoyev By the of of October 4 decree scarpped the visa requirement for French citizens as of October 5, 2018 for a stay not exceeding 30 days, the Committee for Tourism said.
As noted in the document, this move was aimed at boosting the Uzbek-French ties, promoting cultural, scientific, educational exchange between the two countries, improving the investment climate and promoting tourits inflow into Uzbekistan.
According to the committee, in 2016 4,889 French nationals visited Uzbekistan, in 2017 - 5,748 people, and in eight months of the current year - 9,172 people.
