In July-August of 2018, the National Scientific Center for Employment under the Ministry of Employment conducted a sociological study, the center reported.
The study covered 62 cities and districts, 3,100 households and 16,425 citizens.
The study found that the unemployment rate was at 9.3%, which is by 0.4 percentage points lower than in Q1 (9.7%).
The unemployment among young people (aged under 30) was at 15.9%, and among women - 13.4 %.
“We should bear in mind that the discrepancy in unemployment rate to the same period in 2017 (5.2%) is due to more accurate calculation methods,” the statement said.
The number of those employed in the informal sector are 7,902.6 thousand people. (59.8% of the total), of whom employed in temporary and seasonal works –1,632.5 thousand people and 2,644.1 thousand people are the labour migrants.
