The Ministries of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan signed a protocol on cooperation in the law enforcement and on the fight against crime for 2019-2020, the Uzbek Interior Ministry said in a statement.
The first meeting of the working groups led by the chairs, Davron Nazarmukhamedov and Vilayat Eyvazov took place on Thursday.
The parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between the respective units of the parties for the exchange of information in the fight against terrorism, extremism and illegal migration, and thecooperation on investigation, fight against crime and security in transport.
The Azerbaijani delegation will visit Samarkand to familiarize itself with the security at tourist facilities.
