Uzbekistan ratified several international treaties, Norma.uz reported. Uzbekistan ratified the Paris Climate Agreement (Paris, December 12, 2015) is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), dealing with greenhouse-gas-emissions mitigation, adaptation, and finance, starting in the year 2020. The Paris Agreement's long-term goal is to keep the increase in global average temperature to well below 2 °C above pre-industrial levels; and to limit the increase to 1.5 °C, since this would substantially reduce the risks and effects of climate change.
Uzbekistan also ratified the Statute and Rules of Procedure of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries. This Institute is part of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and is intended to create new and harmonize existing standards between the OIC member states for advancing trade activities between them.
The amendment to the Statute of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (Abidjan, 10–11 July 2017 has also been ratified.
