Acting Samarkand province governor Erkinjon Turdimov, by his September 22 order, has forbidden the officials of the province, city and district mayor offices to drive official cars, Zarnews.uz reported.
The decision was prompted by the cases when officials caused road accidents and breached the road rules when driving cars on their own instead of assigned drivers, the commentary said.
From now onwards, only the assigned drivers shall be entitled to drive the official vehicles.
