President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today hosted the adjutant general of the Mississippi National Guard, Major General Jenson Boyles and the member of U.S. House of Representatives Trent Kelly.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed the guests and stressed that the fruitful meetings and high-level talks held in May this year during his official visit to the U.S. opened a new era of strategic partnership between the two countries.
The sides underscored with satisfaction that Uzbek-American multifaceted relations are gradually expanding and strengthening, and mentioned the joint programs and projects that are being implemented in trade and economic, innovation, investment, scientific, technical, cultural, humanitarian and other areas.
The sides also touched upon the ways to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan's National Guard and relevant departments with the MississippiNational Guard, including the exchange of experience, training and activities in the field of public order and response in emergency situations.
Particular attention was paid to the expansion of inter-parliamentary contacts, as well as to the promotion of business partnership ties with leading trade-innovation, agriculture, and education firms in Mississippi .
General J. Boyles and Congressman T. Kelly thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and concrete initiatives to expand bilateral relations.
The guests highly appreciated the reforms and transformations undertaken in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to continue effective inter-parliamentary dialogue and interagency contacts, as well as to step up work on promoting joint bilateral projects between Uzbekistan and the United States.
