Michael Denison, a political adviser at BP said that the company was ready to extend its presence in Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan 24 reported.

According to him, the company had concentrated its activities on promising deposits in the northern Ustyurt in Karakalpakstan and Fergana region, where it is planning to apply previously unused technologies for hydrocarbon production.

"BP plans to expand the sale of Castrol oil products with a view of setting up of production unit in Uzbekistan," Denison added.

The company also plans to help develop clean energy and enhance energy efficiency through introduction of own technologies.

BP is a multinational oil and gas company headquartered in London. It is the second largest publicly traded oil and gas company in the world.
