Uzbekistan will migrate to 9-digit telephone numbering plan starting from September 10, when all numbers, both landline and mobile, will be prefixed with their codes, for example 71 for Tashkent city landline phones. So, when in Tashkent you have to dial 71-123-45-67 instead of 123-45-67.
The move followed on the basis of the recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union and the requirements of the "System and Numbering Plan of Telecommunication Networks of Uzbekistan", which were developed by the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
The move will be carried out from September 10 through September 30.
