The Uzbek President’s press secretary Komil Allamjonov told on his Facebook page about the program of the state visit of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon to Uzbekistan on August 17-18.

The President of Tajikistan will arrive in the morning of August 17. Following the ceremony of laying flowers at the Mustaqillik monument, the two leaders will hold talks tête-à-tête and between the delegations in the Kuksaroy residence.

The parties will reportedly discuss the ways to expand bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic, transport and communication spheres, tourism, cultural-humanitarian and inter-provincial cooperation, and will exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

A number of accords are expected to be signed following the talks aimed at "elevating the level of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to a new level."

In the afternoon, an exhibition of Tajik goods will be held in Tashkent’s UzExpoCentre.

Emomali Rahmon is also scheduled to visit the Artel plant in Tashkent.

On the same day, the two leaders will attend the concert by the singers of the two countries.

On August 18, the Tajik president will hold talks with Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismayilov and the Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov. On this day, Emomali Rahmon will arrive in Samarkand and visit its sights.

According to the press secretary, adjustments may be made to the program.
