President Shavkat Mirziyoyev today hosted the visiting Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, the presidential press service said in a statement.
The counterparts reportedly underscored the importance of further expansion and deepening of full-scale bilateral cooperation, primarily in the trade-economic, investment, innovation and cultural-humanitarian areas and discussed the prospects for implementing joint projects in the field of pharmaceuticals and medicine, IT, agriculture, tourism and other sectors.
"It was specially noted that the upcoming state visit of the Uzbek president to India will serve to open a new chapter in Uzbek-Indian relations based on the historical ties of centuries-old friendship, to elevate the bilateral ties to a higher level," the statement said.
Also, an exchange of views took place on the topical international and regional issues of the mutual interest.
