The State Security Service (DXX) of Uzbekistan arrested the first deputy mayor of Navbakhor district of Navoi province, Oybek Hayyrov red-handedly when he was taking a bribe.
According to Uzbekistan 24 channel, he was caught taking US$ 4 thousand and 16 million soums.
Against this amount Hayyrov promised to help obtain the mayor’s resolution to lay a 6-km water canal from the collector to the territory of the fish breeding plant in the Kanimekh District.
DXX officers found that the detained already took US$ 3.5 thousand and 4 million soums.
A criminal case has been opened against the deputy, with Investigation ongoing.
Governor of the Samarkand province Turobjon Djuraev was arrested for taking bribe from a construction company, as well as several high-ranking officials are being accused of taking bribe.
