On July 18, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan issued Measures To Improve the Operation of Vehicles With Tinted Windows Resolution," the Ministry of Justice said on its Telegram channel.
The document approved the proposal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to allow the operation of vehicles with tinted windows for fee starting from August 1.
not less than 5% tint for rear windows and 30% for rear side windows shall be permitted. Tinting shall be carried out by "Center for Innovative Projects and Services for Public under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The permit is issued by the units of the Traffic Police for one year.
The rates of for window tinting:
- 16.58 million soums for natural persons;
- 22.11 million soums for legal persons;
- 25.8 million soums for legal persons of foreign countries.
A fee of $ 15 will be levied for vehicles with tinted windows on temporary stay and transit in Uzbekistan.
The standard for window tinting should be developed before the new regulation takes effect. The list of government agencies within a month should also be approved for which a permit for tinting is issued for free.
The penalty for lack of permit for tinted windows will be increased. Amendments must be prepared by the Ministry of Internal Affairs within a month.
Previously, the experts of the Development Strategy Center stated that the draft governmental resolution needs to be improved to make the window tinting affordable for the general public, which however ended up not to be the case.
