SEVIMLI TV, a private channel in Uzbekistan, fired at least 3 employees who did not cut the erotic scene from I Feel Pretty, a comedy starring Amy Schumer, which was aired on July 15.
In that "shameless scene" Renee (Amy Schumer) kisses Ethan (Rory Scover), with the scene containing implied nudity - bare shoulders, legs, thighs, silhouettes and movements hinting to them having a sexual intercourse.
The airing divided the public on the social media, with some being outraged for showing a scene, "contrary to the Uzbek mentality", and even demanding severe measures to be taken against the administration of the channel, and others stating there was nothing immoral in that scene. The next day, a "letter of apology" was published on the Sevimli TV channel’s Facebook page saying that the sex scene was aired by mistake and due to the irresponsibility of the staff.
Earlier on February 16 this year, the Turkish TV series "Black Love", aired on ZO'R TV, was suspended due to the series being contrary to the Uzbek moral principles.
