President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Treaty between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey on Extradition Bill into Law. The bill was passed by the Legislative Chamber on June 26 and approved by the Senate on June 28, the Xalq So’zi newspaper published Tuesday.

The extradition treaty was signed in Tashkent on April 30 during the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Uzbekistan.

As the Senate press service reported earlier, the extradition treaty would serve as a legal basis for ensuring the principle of the inevitability of punishment for committing crimes and contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation in the fight against crime.
