Some Uzbek language news publications such as Kun.uz, Xabar.uz, Azon.uz and Qalampir.uz cannot be reached since June 22. The most popular news website in Uzbekistan Kun.uz has published an official statement on its Facebook page, clarifying the "technical problems" the site is facing.
According to the statement, the minister of development of information technologies Azim Ahmedkhadjaev met with officials of Kun.uz, Xabar.uz and Qalampir.uz to discuss the said problems. Ahmedhadjaev said he would provide assistance for immediate rectification of the "DNS-related technical problems".
The parties also reportedly discussed cooperation between the news publications and the ministry, the ways to ensure information security and addressing other problems that media outlets are facing.
