The press service of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev posted his congratulatory message on Uzbek Language Day. The message noted the country's challenges in strengthening the role and prestige of the national language in society and promoting its widespread popularity around the wrold.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that the reform program launched eight years ago ushered in a new period in the development of the Uzbek language, which is the source of our strength and national identity. We have accomplished a great deal to boost its role and status as the state language, transforming it into the language of modern science and knowledge, information technology, and international relations, he said.
The president pointed out the efforts to align the names of geographical features with the norms of the Uzbek language, incorporate new concepts and terms into the language, improve language teaching, and publish encyclopedias, dictionaries, and manuals.
“I consider it appropriate to reiterate: our younger generation, who are the future, must study foreign languages to master modern knowledge, innovate, and achieve greatness. However, to foster a national spirit, develop national thinking, and patriotism, young people must, above all, thoroughly master the Uzbek language and literature from childhood”.
He underscored the introduction of principles for building an inclusive society into state language policy, which places great emphasis on the development of the native languages of representatives of the various nations and peoples living in our country. Meanwhile time, we are creating the necessary conditions for them to study the state language. The result of our joint efforts is that today, the Uzbek, as the state language, serves to unite our multinational people, the president stated.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of increasing the volume of high-quality, scientifically based, educational information and data in the Uzbek language online.
“The AI’s influence of artificial intelligence in our lives is growing, so the development and popularization of our native language through this powerful tool is a requirement of the times”.
“In the area of marketing, the main focus should be "building attractive national brands based on the rich potential of the Uzbek language that reflect the mentality of our people, and promoting domestic products in foreign markets."
