President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation Saturday.

The two leaders exchanged sincere congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, which is a holiday of joy and thanksgiving, generosity and kindness for the entire Muslim world.

Erdoğan highly commended the laying of the first foundation stone of the future Center for Islamic Civilization onn the bright day in Tashkent, underscoring that this Center will make a great contribution to promoting of enlightened Islam.

The counterparts noted with deep satisfaction the regular meetings and interaction that contribute to strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership ties between the two countries and discussed the prospects for advancing partnership in trade and economic, investment, banking and financial spheres, development of transport, tourism and other infrastructure of the country, as well as in other important areas.

In the end of the conversation, the two leaders reiterated their readiness to comprehensively develop and strengthen the multifaceted and mutually beneficial relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, based on principles of centuries-old friendship, brotherhood and mutual respect.
