Today the Uzbek Foreign Ministry hosted a meeting with the EU delegation including Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian and Special Envoy for Afghanistan Roland Kobia, the ministry said in a statement.

The sides reportedly discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union in various formats, the draft of the new EU Strategy for Central Asia and the ways to expand cooperation in the Uzbekistan-EU format.

The two sides exchanged views on the beginning of talks on the updating of the bilateral Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

The EU officials highly commended the June 11-12 international conference on the Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism and Radicalization that Lead to Terrorism.
