Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan in the middle of autumn, the Russian ambassador Vladimir Tyurdenev said.

"The visit is scheduled for the middle of autumn, it could happen in October, but until there is an official confirmation, and due to their busy schedules it's premature to talk about the exact date. However, the visit has been confirmed on several occasions," the ambassador said.

Russia is one of Uzbekistan’s major trade and economic partners, with Uzbekistan being the fourth trade partner among the CIS countries. In 2017 the two-way trade reached US$ 3.6 billion dollars, a 33.9% increase.
