President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday held a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the presidential press service reported.
The two leaders reportedly discussed topical aspects of the Uzbek-Kazakhstan partnership ties in the context of implementing the agreements reached during bilateral meetings, and noted with satisfaction steady growth of the two-trade figures which makes it possible to achieve the target turnover figure of US$ 3 billion this year, and in the coming years - US$ 5 billion.
The counterparts reiterated mutual interest in implementing joint industry, power, transport and other projects.
The two leaders highly valued the effective work of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on bilateral cooperation, as well as the successfully held joint events within the framework of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, and exchange views on topical issues of international politics and regional cooperation.
In conclusion, the presidents of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reaffirmed their strong commitment to the further strengthening of Uzbek-Kazakh friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership ties, as well as to expand mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and peoples.
