Uzbek Prosecutor General Otabek Murodov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America Pamela Spratlen Thursday, the prosecutor's office said.
Ambassador P. Spratlen was briefed about the measures taken under the leadership of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at reforming the judicial-legal system, liberalizing criminal legislation and improving the activities of law enforcement agencies .
This bilateral meeting is organized ahead of the official visit from May 15-17 of the President Mirziyoyev to the United States.
The parties also reportedly discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, exchange of experience, ensuring freedom of conscience and speech, as well as strengthening the role of civil society institutions in the ongoing reforms.
