President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday hosted the Pakistan delegation led by Army Chief of Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the presidential press service reported.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres, topical aspects of countering modern challenges and threats to security and stability in the region, as well as a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa reportedly commended the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at modernizing the Armed Forces and strengthening the country's defense capability. He also expressed his full support for the practical results of the Tashkent Conference on Afghanistan, held in Tashkent in March.
The delegation of Pakistan also held talks with the Ministers of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.
