Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov yesterday hosted the newly appointed Philippine Ambassador with the residence in Tehran, Wilfredo S. Santos, the Foreign Ministry reported.
Accepting his credentials, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the beginning of his posting and wished him success.
The sides discussed the prospects of Uzbek-Philippine ties and some international and regional problems, and confirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation both bilaterally and within the framework of the UN and other bodies.
Special attention was paid to the development of trade-economic and investment ties, expansion of the legal framework to tap the cooperation potential.
