Shavkatbek Irgashev has been appointed as mayor of Tashkent's Mirzo-Ulugbek district, the Tashkent mayor's office said. Previously, this post was occupied by Sherzod Kudbiev, who was appointed as Minister of Employment and Labor Relations.
Shavkatbek Irgashev, 53, is a graduate of the Tashkent Road Institute (1981) and the Academy of State and Public Construction under the President of Uzbekistan (2000).
From 2017, he had worked as a mayor of the Uchtepa district, previously he was the mayor of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district (2005-2013), and before that - the first deputy mayor of the Almazar district (2002-2005).
